International dimension

The research groups of the Physics Department are embedded in and articulated collaborative network with universities and research centers at the international level, in the framework of numerous initiatives and projects.

On this basis, the PhD program actively supports the internationalization of the PhD students’ profiles with a financial contribution to their attendance to international congresses and in the organization of scientific secondments at international universities and research centers. At least one month of this type of international activity is mandatory for all PhD students, up to a maximum of 18 months.

All procedures related to the authorization, insurance coverage and refunding of international mobility are well defined within the program, and all PhD students are duly informed of them at the beginning of their three-year activities.

The Torino Graduate School in Physics participates in international programs concerning PhD training and bilateral or multilateral student exchanges in specific areas of research.

Currently active programs are:

  • ISAPP: "International School on AstroParticle Physics - European Doctorate School" (local representative: N. Fornengo)
  • APCG: "Theoretical Aspects of Astroparticle Physics, Cosmology and Gravitation" (local representative: N. Fornengo)
  • LACES: "Lezioni Avanzate di Campi E Stringhe" (local representative: C. G. Maccaferri)
