Course objectives
Objective of the course will be learning the bases of neutron-matter interaction, neutron dosimetry, neutron detection, neutron spectrometry and neutron shielding.

Results of learning outcomes
A variety of different measurement techniques are applied in different fields of research and categories of neutron fields and their degree of complexity is high. After this course, the participants will be ideally able to (1) understand which physical phenomena are dominant in a given neutron measurement or shielding scenario (2) correctly choose the measurement technique according to the specific workplace and the objective of the measuement (3) interprete and compare the results from different techniques (4) Select the appropriate calibration technique for a given measurement device

Learning assessment methods
The exam will consist in writing a minimal computer program (in any known language) to solve a simple neutron transport or neutron detection problem. The results will be reported in written and presented orally.
